It’s true folks, Brian Wilson and Ryan Mason will be traveling to Reno for the Silver State Tattoo and Arts Festival May 10th – 12th. Both artists will most likely be working from a book of their own drawings. Email email@example.com (Brian) or firstname.lastname@example.org (Ryan) if you’re interested in snagging an appointment. If you’re at the convention please come check out the booth, say hello and make some lasting friendships!

We recently were informed that the stencil paper that we have been using for years contains lanolin . We have spoken with the company and confirmed the contents, but as there are no workable alternatives to the stencils that we use, we are reluctantly removing our label as a “vegan” tattoo shop until we can find an alternative to this product. As a shop that is trying to find responsible and ethical ways of providing this service in a non-vegan world we treat this business as a community effort and very much appreciate those who bring this sort of information to to our attention. In the meantime all of the inks, soaps, and ointments we use are still vegan, we just don’t feel right advertising our shop as such until this matter is resolved. We’re really sorry that this has escaped our attention and for those of you that received a tattoo from our shop in the past we’d apologize for unknowingly misleading you. The stencil washes off after the tattoo procedure so anything that is still in your body is vegan. Thanks for your understanding and continued support.

This past May we had a very nice visit from a very nice Frenchman, Dom Pichard, the talent behind P-MOD Photographies. He took some amazingly good photographs of the shop and surprisingly, some pretty good photographs of us (we, as a group, do not photograph well). We are so thankful! Check out his work here.

May welcomes a new member to the Scapegoat family; Aron Dubois hails from the mountains of Colorado and brings with him his own unique style (check out his work here). He’ll be working Wednesday – Saturday starting May 2nd, so keep your eyes peeled for his amazing tats. He’s also part of a group show at Breeze Block gallery this month, check it out here
Sadly, Aron’s arrival means Allyson Bennett’s departure. She’ll be heading to San Fransisco in early May – check back in (or keep up with her blog) to find out where in San Fran she’ll be working! We’re gonna miss her!
